Give Back Feature: Claudia Guariglia

This week’s blog features Claudia Guariglia! Claudia’s love for Make-A-Wish and community service inspires us to go out and give to the world. We hope you can find out a little bit more about yourself just as Claudia has with her participation in giving back. Be a part of the chain reaction just as Claudia has! Xo

: Tell us about yourself?

I am a junior at Sacred Heart University who loves staying busy with a variety of organizations on campus. I am the Community Service Chair of my sorority, Chi Omega, so service and the community have become extremely important aspects of my life. Most people would call me a fashionista, but I simply look at it as a way of expressing myself through what I love, which happens to be fashion. I feel that one of the most important parts of a college experience is to diversify my involvement by joining multiple organizations and giving back to the community as best as I can.

: What does freely giving mean to you?

: In my opinion, giving freely means giving back what you can to the community. As the Community Service Chair of my sorority, I have the privilege of working closely with our philanthropy, Make-A-Wish Foundation. I have learned through the Make-A-Wish Foundation that the little things in life should never be taken for granted. Through my experiences with this organization, I have been able to see these poor children with life threatening diseases watch their lives dramatically change with the smallest form of adventure. Having the opportunity to watch their dreams become reality is truly inspiring.

: What would you do if you could give freely?  If you had every resource that you needed at this moment what would you do to help someone/your community?

: If I could give freely with no limits I would definitely aim my efforts towards helping to grant the wishes of all Wish Kids everywhere. Being the Community Service Chair of Chi Omega, Kappa Mu, I have developed much more of a close relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation than I ever could have imagined. Make-A-Wish is such an amazing organization that does the unimaginable in the eyes of each deserving child. Giving back all that you can and helping those in your community is such a great way to find yourself, and I am honored to say that Make-A-Wish has definitely allowed me to do just that, and so much more.

Thanks for helping others, Claudia! If you have an awesome give back idea surrounding a cause you're passionate about, enter our Giving Chain Contest for the chance to get the funds to make it happen! xo
